Cookie Swap 2011 - The Delinquent
Well. Here I am - the delinquent. This year's cookie swap (that I pestered inspired everyone into doing, but forgot to register us, so we ended up doing it on our own) is done. The swapped cookies from Yasmeen, Sherilyn, and Steph are all happily devoured, and my shortbreads were the last to be swapped, with (according to Steph) only 20% breakage.
Yasmeen's cookies were the first to arrive ... She sent beautiful pistachio and cranberry biscotti (drizzled with white chocolate), along with a lovely recipe card. Gone too quickly to photograph.
Sherilyn posted her cardamom-scented cookies in little tins, with crafty notes - a great idea for gifting! I was preparing for my first big Christmas market - hence, gone too quickly to photograph.
And then, I got Steph's lovely stained-glass sugar cookies. I devoured them as I packed photographs and moisture bars and kiddie garden packs away in boxes for Christmas market #2. Gone too quickly to photograph.
So here I am. I haven't posted about the cookie swap yet. Or shown photos.
Delinquent.
Plus I sent out my cookies late.
Delinquent.
But you cookie-swappers know I love you, right? That I enjoyed baking you cookies, and that every last crumb of the cookies you sent me was eaten with delight?
Of course you know it. You all have lives, too. I forget that sometimes, when the guilt sets in ...
Life is life is life, right? And we do the best we can do.
With love.

ReplyDeleteThe participation in the FB 2011 Cookie Swap was phenomenal and Julie and Lindsay are to be commended for their amazing organizational skills. At least you found time to do a little one of your own.
